CBS’ Carlson heads to Fox

'Early Show' gets new daytime, weekend anchor

Fox News Channel has signed CBS’ “Saturday Early Show” co-host Gretchen Carlson as a daytime and weekend anchor.

Carlson won’t have her own show initially, but Fox said she’ll receive more camera time than she gets in her CBS gig, which was a two-hour broadcast on Saturdays.

“I am thrilled to be joining Fox News, especially at a time when they are skyrocketing through the industry,” Carlson said in a statement.

Carlson joined CBS News in 2000 as a Newspath correspondent based in New York. She has worked at local affiliates in Dallas, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Richmond, Va.
