Comedians to read autobiographies aloud
Bravo has slated a one-hour comedy special based on the long-running Los Angeles stage production of Eugene Pack’s “Celebrity Autobiographies: In Their Own Words.”
Spec will feature comic performances of actual celeb memoirs. Molly Shannon, Cheryl Hines, Kevin Nealon and Fred Willard are onboard to participate.
Comedians will read from the autobiographies of such household names as Britney Spears, Tommy Lee, Mr. T and Elizabeth Taylor. Show will be taped in front of an aud in L.A.
Project “provides a fresh approach to exploring the many layers of celebritydom through the articulations of America’s funniest comedians,” Bravo prexy Lauren Zalaznick said.
Pack will exec produce with Troy Miller, Evan Weiss and Dale Rehfeld. Dakota Pictures (“Viva la Bam”) and Handprint Entertainment will produce in association with Bravo.
“In Their Own Words” will premiere later this year.
