The Pink Panther

Top of Toon Town

Sleek and slinky, the Pink Panther is the hippest cat in the cartoon kingdom. From his scene-stealing performance during the opening titles in Blake Edwards’ original 1964 spoof through his Oscar-winning DePatie-Freleng cartoon shorts and his long-running franchise relationship with United Artists, MGM and now Sony Pictures, this Panther is always on the screen, and gaining fans with each decade. With his familiar theme music (written by Henry Mancini) a jazz standard, the character stands as an icon of cool and a personification of class.
