Specialty crowd toasts Picturehouse baptism

Shingle makes grand entrance at Cannes

To celebrate New Line and HBO Films’ newly launched Picturehouse label, the shingle’s power troika — Colin Callender, Michael Lynne and Bob Berney — held a cocktail party Saturday at Nikki Beach where guests were invited to toast the venture seaside.

Breezy and casual, event drew everyone from the glitzy (Paris Hilton) to the grimy (Michael Pitt) and even the garage-y (Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon).

Also making the scene was a who’s who of the specialty film world, including Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler, Cinetic’s John Sloss, IFP’s Michelle Byrd, Antidote Films’ Jeff Levy-Hinte, Required Viewing’s Steven Raphael and ICM’s Shaun Reddick and Renee Tab.
