Villaraigosa, Tyson, Watson join in welcoming Gordon

What: Private reception honoring the new President of the NAACP Bruce S. Gordon.

Who: Clarence Avant, Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, Mike Tyson, Camille Winbush (daughter from “The Bernie Mac Show”), Byron Allen, Diane Watson.

Where: Muholland Estates, at the home of Judge Greg Mathis.

Beverly Hills, in the very own backyard of Judge Greg Mathis, Mike Tyson, Clarence Avant, Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, Senator Diane Watson and members of the NAACP came out to join in celebration of the NAACP to honor the org’s new president, Bruce S.Gordon. Villaraigosa welcomed Judge Mathis to the City of Los Angeles from Detroit, MI, and specially thanked him for allowing such a fine organization to have this event in his private home. Mayor Villarigosa said, “I better speak nice of him before Judge Mathis puts me in jail. Don’t forget he’s a judge.”

Judge Greg Mathis, Mayor Villarigosa and Senator Diane Watson briefly spoke to the crowd of their great confidence and leadership that President Bruce S. Gordon will be a major asset and strong leader for the NAACP. Bruce announced, “I’m delighted to take on the new role as President and look forward to bringing new projects, new role play from our youth and new ideas to the organization.”
