HOLLYWOOD — Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and slews of Disneyland cast members lined a gold carpet, draped from Main Street, USA, to the tip of Frontierland, on the evening of May 4, to welcome an invite-only group of revelers back “home.”
The idea, that the Happiest Place on Earth is a second home to denizens all over America, was not lost on the elite attendees, who got to eat, be “happy” and hop on “Pirates of the Caribbean” with no wait … and with plastic
champagne flutes in hand.
Private party, which launched an 18-month celebration in honor of Disney’s 50th anni, capped off with the park’s most elaborate fireworks show to date. The colorful display, dubbed “Remember … Dreams Come True,” lit up
the sky around 10 p.m., just after guests – including Pierce Brosnan and a brightly dressed Michael Eisner — were given a peek at “Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams.”
