Scribes talk about love at book party
HOLLYWOOD — Who says guys don’t like to talk about love? A group of literary luminaries got touchy-feely at a Jan. 14 book party for “Committed: Men’s Stories of Love, Commitment and Marriage” at the Chateau Marmont. Andy Borowitz, Nicholas Weinstock and James McManus read from their work to a bi-coastal crowd at the fete.“Even the most monogamous men flunk monogamy,” Weinstock said dryly, eliciting snickers from the aud. Earlier, McManus, a professional poker player, wondered if poker strategies should be applied to marriage. “Poker rewards duplicitousness,” he said, standing next to his wife Jennifer, who looked like she’d heard this musing before and found it harmless enough. Attendees included Sony’s Michael Lynton, Oliver Platt, Brett Easton Ellis, David Duchovny and Bianca Jagger.
