A packed crowd of young film buffs mixed it up with the French intelligentsia Thursday night at the opening shindig for the Directors Fortnight at the Noga Beach. Guests threaded their way down the Croisette after the screening of the opening film in the section, “Be With Me” by Singaporean Eric Khoo. The Fortnight’s artistic director Olivier Pere told Variety that the audience was “moved to tears” by the pic’s tapestry of love stories. Later, Pere chatted with the director and his entourage as guests and filmmakers savored Asian delicacies and shook a leg on the dance floor
