Chi fest feasts on Sarandon

Thesp honored with Gold Hugo at fest

CHICAGO — “She was in the sexiest movie I’ve ever seen, ‘The Hunger,’ ” Chicago’s own Roger Ebert said prior to a 45-minute interview with Susan Sarandon before a crowd of 3,200 Oct. 6 at the Chicago Theater.

“We go to the movies for many reasons — and one of them is to see Susan Sarandon and Catherine Deneuve making love,” he added, referring to thesps’ memorable scene in the 1983 Tony Scott pic.

Accepting her Gold Hugo for career achievement from Chicago Film Festival founder-director Michael Kutza, Sarandon clutched the streamlined male statue and said, “This is going in my bathroom with all the other anatomically incorrect people.”
