| The celeb-fueled final day of ShoWest turned into “George Lucas, This Is Your Life,” after the helmer ceremoniously took the stage (preceded by dozens of storm troopers and Darth Vader) to introduce scenes from “Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith,” and to accept the first — and only — Galactic Achievement Award for box-office success.
Between dinner and standing ovations, Lucas also joined fellow directors James Cameron, Robert Zemeckis and Robert Rodriguez to showcase scenes in 3-D from the original “Star Wars” and other films. The helmers even donned the cheesy 3-D glasses audience members wore during the demo for a photo op.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt almost shared the stage: He stood, looking a bit awkward, alongside Angelina Jolie stumping for “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” just hours before Aniston accepted a Star of the Year Award. (Matt Damon also received Star of the Year kudos.)
Other players rockin’ Vegas that day included Drew Barrymore, pulling double duty receiving the Distinguished Decade in Film award before attending the Fox luncheon with Jimmy Fallon for “Fever Pitch”; and an emotional and effusively grateful Bernie Mac, the Comedy Star of the Year, who admitted, “I didn’t know what this was. I was like, ‘ShoWhat?’ “
