13 proves lucky for Salon

Arlen feted at Taper shindig

After weeks of rain, the only “Stormy Weather” in L.A. Feb. 28 was sung at the Salon at the Taper celebrating American composer Harold Arlen.

“This is the Salon’s Bar Mitzvah,” Center Theater Group’s Gordon Davidson said of the 13th annual event that raised more than $100,000 for CTG’s ticket discount programs

Youngest cast member Benjamin Platt wowed ’em on stage with Arlen’s “Over the Rainbow,” while Kirk Douglas, for whom the new CTG theater is named, turned heads in the audience.
