WHO: A dozen wannabe filmmakers, ages 10-18

WHAT: Camera and lighting equipment, 16mm film and processing and volunteer crews

WHY: Santa Clarita sixth-grader Sam Bahor won his school’s screenplay contest with “Joey.” Now, actor Louis Mandylor (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding”) will direct the short as an opportunity for the pupils to shadow industry pros. The kids pay tuition to take the classes from producer Michelle Green, with all funds going into the project. Donations are tax deductible.

WHERE: All Disney Stores

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24

HOW: Purchase two backpacks or lunch totes at a discounted price and one item will be donated to local Boys & Girls Clubs. “We wanted to make a difference for kids on a real grassroots level and provide school supplies that children really need,” says Disney Store prexy Mario Ciampi.
