What makes your show different?
“The four girls on the show are very dynamic, individual and three-dimensional. At the same time, they don’t fall into any category. They’re not stereotypes.”
What previous role are you most proud of?
“I did an Off Broadway play in New York City almost two years ago, ‘The Moonlight Room.’ That’s kind of when I really grew as an actress. I came out with more confidence and more self-awareness than I ever had before.”
What shows influenced you in becoming an actor? Why?
” ‘Friends’ and ‘Sex and the City’ are two of my favorite shows. I think those shows kind of made me want to do television. I come from theater, and ‘Annie’ and ‘The Nutcracker’ are the reasons I got into the arts.”
Comedy or drama: Which is harder?
“I think they both have their challenges, but comedy is more fun, as it can create a more relaxed environment on the set. Drama comes with a whole other set of challenges. I think it’s hard to spend 16 hours on set and constantly prepare for drama.”
Whose career would you like to emulate?
“I love Kate Winslet and Judi Dench. I think it’s really hard to cross mediums. Laura Linney’s another one. She’s done film, TV and theater without anyone questioning why.”
