Larry Kingen, Senior VP of DVD services and facilities on the East and West Coast for Ascent Media Group, died of bone cancer Sept. 16 in Los Angeles. He was 66.

Kingen began his career as Captain Monday on a local children’s TV show in Roseburg, Ore. As a U.S. Army Sergeant, he directed new recruit training films.
Later, he worked in broadcasting and post-production and became partner in consulting firm Solutions Intl. Kingen was prexy/CEO of post-production facilities for All Post, Editel and Vidtronics before signing on as V.P. at Ascent.
Kingen was promoted to senior V.P. in 2003 and remained there until recently.
He was past prexy of the Southern California Chapter of the International Teleproduction Society and had served on the boards of UCLA Extension and the Entertainment Industry Development Corporation of Southern California.
He is survived by his partner David Moreno, a brother and a sister.
