Jonathan Thomas


Sculptor Jonathan Thomas died May 2 in New York City of bladder cancer. He was 59.

The Canadian-born artist showed his work with Betty Parsons during the last years of her gallery in New York City. Thomas went on to exhibit at the Newspace Gallery in Los Angeles, the Friedman Gallery in Toronto, and several museum shows throughout the United States. His work is currently seen at the Roy Boyd Gallery in Chicago, the New Gallery in Houston, and the Edward F. Albee Foundation in New York.

He is survived by his life partner, playwright Edward Albee; and two sisters.
