Wife of late Leonard H. Goldenson, mother of producer Loreen Arbus

Isabelle Goldenson died of natural causes in Sarasota, Fla. on Feb. 21. She was 84.

Goldenson was the wife of the late Leonard H. Goldenson, founder and chairman of ABC, and mother of producer Loreen Arbus.

A prominent philanthropist, she co-founded United Cerebral Palsy, a major fundraising and research org, after her late daughter, Genise, was born with the condition.

With her husband, she lobbied extensively on behalf of the disabled, restulting in legislation which removed many barriers to accessibility. She also met with NASA scientists concerning efforts to adapt space technology for the disabled.

In addition to Arbus, she is survived by daughter Maxine and a grandson.
