Glenn “Bear” Davis died March 12 in Los Angeles of complications from a transplant surgery. He was 56.

Born in San Diego he served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. As a grip, he worked for 31 years on films including “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “The Italian Job,” “Minority Report,” “Magnolia,” “X-Men” and “Die Hard.”

In television, he worked on shows including “Judging Amy,” “X Files,” “Family Matters” and “News Radio.”

He is survived by his wife Janis, three sons and a daughter.
