Reality titans drop agencies

Burnett, Endemol reality is no reps

Two titans of the reality TV world have opted to go without representation.

“Survivor” and “Apprentice” guru Mark Burnett has ankled CAA, two years after joining the agency. Meanwhile, Endemol USA has ended its representation deal with William Morris, which has repped the production studio since the dawn of the current reality boom.

During the time WMA repped Endemol, tenpercentery packaged deals for the U.S. version of “Big Brother,” the ABC smash “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and NBC’s “Fear Factor.” Latter skein was the first modern reality show on a broadcast net to make the move to syndication.

It’s expected Endemol will not seek representation elsewhere, choosing instead to go it alone. Burnett — generally recognized as TV’s most successful reality producer despite the current lackluster perf of “The Contender”– may have also decided he doesn’t need representation.
