Poll: Brits beaming over original ‘Trek’

Online poll sez sci-fier the most missed of TV auds

Cult sci-fi series “Star Trek” is the show most Brits want to see return to their TV sets, according to a survey.

First aired in the U.S. in 1966, the skein topped a poll of more than 1,000 viewers conducted by interactive outfit Home Media Networks.

Of the 10 most popular shows that British auds miss, nine were U.S. programs — “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” was second, while “Friends” was third.

The highest U.K. show in the poll was the John Cleese sitcom “Fawlty Towers.”

Sci-fi skeins featured strongly in the poll, with fifth through eighth places filled by “Blake’s 7,” “The X-Files,” “Babylon 5” and “Stargate.”

In ninth place was U.S. sitcom “Seinfeld,” while kids’ fave “The A-Team” was No. 10.
