Par exec segues to Fox

Rosenfelt inks two-year prod'n pact

After 15 years as an exec at Paramount Pictures, recently ankled production president Karen Rosenfelt has signed an exclusive, two-year production deal with Fox 2000 Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox.

Rosenfelt will develop and oversee films targeted to teens and family audiences, as she did at Paramount, where she oversaw live-action features like “Save the Last Dance,” “Coach Carter” and “Mean Girls.”

She was instrumental in setting up Paramount’s partnership with Nickelodeon Movies, overseeing the film adaptations of the Nickelodeon television properties like “Rugrats” and “SpongeBob SquarePants.”

Rosenfelt began her career at ICM, as an assistant to talent agent Sue Mengers. She went on to become a creative executive at Jerry Weintraub Productions and a senior vice president at MGM. Until she departed Par in April, Rosenfelt oversaw such pics as “The First Wives Club,” “Indecent Proposal” and “Runaway Bride.”

Fox 2000 topper Elizabeth Gabler praised Rosenfelt as “quietly brilliant and supremely talented,” while TCF topper Hutch Parker noted her “great feel for a wide range of material.”

Rosenfelt most recently executive produced the Walden Media/Nickelodeon adaptation of the E.B. White novel “Charlotte’s Web,” helmed by Gary Winick.
