MTV Networks has created a new exec position to oversee all of its digital operations.
Jason Hirschhorn has been tapped chief digital officer, reporting to MTVN prexy Judy McGrath. He joined MTV Nets in 2000 via the acquisition of his company, Mischief New Media, and rose to become senior VP of digital music and media.
Hirschhorn will coordinate MTVN’s development of its current brands, such as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Spike, into existing and emerging digital platforms.
He will also run operations for the MTV Nets’ portfolio of digital media businesses, including new acquisitions such as iFilm.
