Jacko ratings boffo for E!

Net's daily reenactments averages 300,000 viewers per seg

Michael Jackson’s trial may not be the audience boost that Scott Peterson’s was for the 24-hour newsies. They have in fact scaled back their wall-to-wall coverage, but it has been a boon for one cabler.

Overall, E! Entertainment’s daily reenactments have averaged 300,000 viewers per episode since its Feb. 28 bow.

During the week of March 14 when a former maid of the Gloved One testified she regularly saw intoxicated kids in Neverland Ranch, the show averaged 415,000 viewers and a .43 household rating.

It’s much better than shows like recent originals “Gastineau Girls” and “E! Hollywood Hold ‘Em.”

E! topper Ted Harbert says: “This is a win for us. There hasn’t been this much talk about E! in years.”
