The Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has re-elected Bruce L. Paisner as prexy and chief exec for a second two-year term beginning in January. Paisner immediately re-appointed Fred M. Cohen to act as chairman.
Paisner’s first term witnessed expansions at the Intl. Academy, including the growth of its membership by several hundred. In addition, Academy created the best actor/actress category for the Intl. Emmys, linked with the Council on Foreign Relations to examine key world news topics, and launched the World Television Festival in New York.
Org also organized Intl. Academy Day, held last June in Mexico — the first time such an event has been located outside of the U.S. Next event is slated for China.
As well as his responsibilities to the Academy, Paisner is prexy of Hearst Entertainment and veep of the Hearst Corp.
