Spiro pacts with net for new projects

Lev Spiro has sealed a pilot holding deal with Fox under which he’ll helm new projects for the net.

Spiro has made a name for himself directing dramas and single-camera comedies, having most recently served on the comedy pilot “Don’t Ask” for Fox and 20th Century Fox TV.

Spiro has already signed on this season to direct several episodes of the upcoming UPN laffer “Everybody Hates Chris,” as well as NBC’s “My Name Is Earl” and Fox’s “Kitchen Confidential.” He’ll also helm segs of Fox’s Emmy-winning “Arrested Development.”

Spiro, who’s repped by Endeavor and Principato-Young, has also directed multiple episodes of Fox’s “The OC,” ABC’s “Jake in Progress” and NBC’s “American Dreams” in the past year. He also helmed the season finale for Showtime’s new comedy “Weeds.”

Spiro’s pilot work includes the inaugural episodes of the WB’s “Summerland” and “Do Over,” as well as the reshoot of Fox’s “Method & Red.” He also helmed the pilot for the Disney Channel’s “The Jersey,” which ran for 60 episodes.
