'30 Days' signs for second season
FX has locked up another season of “30 Days,” the docu series from Morgan Spurlock, Ben Silverman and R.J. Cutler.Six-episode skein averaged a solid 1 million viewers in the key 18-49 demo and 1.4 million total viewers. Cabler has not determined how many episodes it will order for the second cycle, but execs are said to be eyeing a premiere early next year. “30 Days” chronicles the journey of an individual situated in an environment antithetical to his background, in sort of a monthlong social experiment. First season episodes included a Christian living as a Muslim and a conservative heterosexual living with a gay man. “It’s not often that you can find a place that fosters creativity and allows you to produce shows that really matter,” Spurlock said. “Our first season tackled some hot-button topics in our country, and I look forward to exploring even more compelling issues next season.” Skein is a production of Spurlock’s Warrior Poets, Cutler’s Actual Reality Pictures and Silverman’s Reveille.
