NEW YORK — Beth Minehart has been named senior VP of international on-demand licensing for NBC Universal Television Distribution.
Minehart, who most recently served as senior VP, international integration and planning, will report to division prexy Belinda Menendez, who unveiled the appointment Tuesday.
In her new position, Minehart will oversee all aspects of on-demand licensing for NBC U’s content outside of the U.S. and Canada. She will focus on driving revenue growth in the burgeoning on-demand arena, including pay-per-view, video-on-demand and subscription-on-demand via cable, satellite, digital terrestrial television, Internet and mobile platforms.
“The on-demand area abroad is growing leaps and bounds,” Menendez told Daily Variety, “and we wanted to boost our focus on this new revenue generator.”
Minehart assumes her new role with more than 15 years’ experience in various professional positions, all with an emphasis on international television. She first joined Universal in 1997 and has worked in international network affiliate sales and worldwide television distribution business development.
After the close of the NBC U merger in 2004, Minehart was appointed senior VP within corporate business development to oversee international integration and planning.
Prior to joining Universal, she worked for 20th Century Fox and New World Entertainment.
