Former Blair adviser to be based in London
Walt Disney Television has recruited Siobhan Kenny, a British government PR chief and former adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair, as communications VP across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
She will be based in London and will work alongside John Hardie, the former ITV commercial director who is now Disney’s exec VP-managing director for branded television for European, Middle Eastern and African territories. She will report to Kevin Brockman, Disney-ABC Television Group senior VP for communications.
Kenny will be responsible for implementing and coordinating all of Disney’s corporate and entertainment communication strategies across the region.
As the director of strategy and communication at the Dept. for Culture, Media & Sport for three years, Kenny has overseen key governmental projects including the London Olympic bid.
Before that, Kenny headed communications at the National Magazine Co., publisher of Cosmopolitan and Harpers & Queen.
Previously, she spent five years as an adviser at Downing Street, first in the press office and then the strategic communications unit, for Blair and his predecessor, John Major.
