AMSTERDAM — Former Endemol chief operating officer Ronald Goes has been named CEO of Talpa Media Holding, the umbrella outfit for Dutch media mogul John de Mol’s new multiplatform company.
Goes, who left Endemol at the end of 2004 after four years, also will be general director of De Mol’s TV channel block, which is expected to launch in August in a five-hour evening timeslot on the Dutch Nickelodeon channel.
De Mol just won the rights to Dutch premier league highlights in Holland, which will make his TV block one of the hottest slots in Dutch television.
Talpa Media Holding includes two branches, Talpa Media and Talpa Capital. The latter is headed by Frank Botman, who launched De Mol’s investment outfit several years ago when he was still at Endemol, the company De Mol co-founded a decade ago. Under Talpa Media, De Mol has a content development, music and radio division.
“The vision of Talpa on the convergence of platforms such as radio, television, computer and mobile telephony fascinates me,” said Goes, stressing that “content is and will remain the factor that will make the difference.”
Goes completes the management of the new TV venture, whose working title is TVNL. Remco Van Westerloo, Gert Grolleman and Ton Rozestraten are program director, business director and commercial director, respectively.
Rozestraten was lured from RTL Nederlands ad subsid IP; Van Westerloo and Grolleman came from SBS Broadcasting’s Dutch ops.
