'Factor,' future projects included in five-year pact
LONDON — Simon Cowell has reupped with Sony BMG and renewed a first-look agreement between his TV production company Syco and Fox Broadcasting in the U.S. for five years apiece.Pact with Sony BMG covers all Cowell’s music and TV projects, including TV talent show “X Factor,” as well as future projects. Cowell has a 15-year relationship with Sony BMG. Sony BMG reupped its worldwide agreement with Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment last week for rights to artists and recordings generated by “Pop Idol,” which broadcasts as “American Idol” in the U.S. and in local formats in 50 countries.
