Chris Elliott is partnering with the producers of “Two and a Half Men” for a potential half-hour comedy project.
Thesp is close to inking a talent holding deal with Eric and Kim Tannebaum’s Warner Bros. TV-based shingle, the Tannebaum Co. Deal calls for the studio to develop a project for Elliott to topline.
No word yet on a writer or concept. Given Elliott’s background as a scribe as well as an actor, it’s possible he could end up as a writer on the project.
Tannenbaum Co. produces ” Two and a Half Men ” for WBTV in conjunction with series creators Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn.
Last year, Elliott developed a half-hour comedy for Fox via 20th Century Fox TV and Regency (Daily Variety, Oct. 11). He also had wrapped his recurring role on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and did a dramatic turn on NBC’s “Third Watch.”
Elliott starred in the early 1990s Fox cult comedy “Get a Life.”
