Legendary rockers raps on rap

HOLLYWOOD — The American Society of Singers, Composers and Publishers feted Neil Young on Monday with the founder’s award for pioneering contributions to music.

Speaking off the cuff, Young said, “I should have written something down. I trusted myself to make something up. What a fool!”

He went on to say that he loves “good rap music” and though he joked that audiences might not receive him well, he could “boldly go where no hippie has gone before” in exploring the genre.
