Wales towns turn off analog TV

U.K. to go completely digital by 2012

The Welsh villages of Ferryside and Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire became the first places in the U.K. to lose the analog TV signal on Tuesday.

The government aims to turn the signal off in the whole country by 2012. Berlin, in Germany, and the two Welsh villages are the only areas in Europe with digital-only TV signals.
