Aylward, Gott will both report to VP Einstein

Variety has boosted two execs to managing director, with Colleen Aylward promoted in sales development and Brian Gott upped in sales and special issues.

Aylward will be responsible for strategic direction and managing high-level client relationships with the Variety sales teams, highlighting the paper’s print and online products. In addition, she manages content partnerships and licensing agreements.

Gott will be responsible for the development and programming of special issues. He will also manage the day-to-day domestic sales operations for Variety‘s print properties.

Both will report to Rose Einstein, VP and publishing director.

Aylward most recently served as head of planning and development for the Variety Group, which included working closely with Variety‘s publisher on strategic planning and developing products,such as VarietyCareers. She joined the Variety Group in April 2003.

Gott most recently served as sales director for Variety. He joined Variety in 1999 as an account manager in the advertising department.
