V Life to shutter in February

Final issue will contain annual Oscar portfolio

V Life will cease publication after the February issue, Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart and president-publisher Charlie Koones announced Thursday.

V Life ran for two years and during that time won several awards. The final issue will contain the annual Oscar portfolio.

“Peter and I are immensely proud of the product that Tom Tapp and his team created,” Koones said. “Our decision to cease publishing V Life is made simply to allow us to accelerate growth in our electronic and international businesses and to further develop our core editorial products. We’ll continue to serve our consumer advertisers with Daily and Weekly Variety, our new V Life Weekend section, Variety.com and the immensely popular Stylephile.”
