Television Week editor Alex Ben Block is ankling the weekly trade mag, turning his attention to working on a new book project.
Reached late Thursday, Block declined to elaborate on the book but said it would be a nonfiction take on the entertainment biz.
Block said he’s also in talks with Television Week about continuing his column with the Crain-owned pub, as well as serving in a variety of consulting roles.
Block has been the magazine’s editor since January 2003, having previously served as executive director of the L.A. Press Club. He also was editor at the Hollywood Reporter for seven years, as well as city editor at the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, a columnist at the Detroit News and associate editor at Forbes magazine.
He also authored the book “Outfoxed: The Inside Story of America’s Fourth Network,” which looked at the birth of the Fox web.
