Miniseries gets second chance to destroy ratings
Kim Delaney, Beau Bridges and David Cubitt are back to ride another deadly earthquake in the sequel to NBC’s hit miniseries “10.5.”
Delaney will reprise her role as top seismologist Dr. Samantha Hill in “10.5: Apocalypse,” while Bridges is back as President Hollister and Cubitt returns as Dr. Jordan Fisher.
Thesps joining the cast for the second disaster include Frank Langella, who will play Dr. Hill’s father. Also added are Dean Cain, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Oliver Hudson, Carlos Bernard, Carly Pope and Tamara Hope. Melissa Sue Anderson and Barbara Eve Harris will also star.
“10.5: Apocalypse” picks up in the aftermath of the original chain of events in “10.5,” when another round of quakes threaten to destroy North America. Delaney’s character discovers that her father’s earlier, discredited seismographic hypothesis may actually be correct and could portend greater doom.
Sequel, which began filming last week in Montreal, will air on NBC sometime this fall.
Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe and Gary Pearl are back as exec producers, while “10.5” scribe-helmer John Lafia will also write, direct and co-exec produce the sequel. Pearl Pictures and Jaffe/Braunstein Films produce.
