BERLIN — Herbert Kloiber’s Tele Munchen Group has tapped TV vet Ludwig Bauer to oversee broadcasting activities.
A former exec of ProSiebenSat 1 and music group Viva, Bauer will serve with Kloiber’s longtime managing director Bernd Schloetterer and focus on TMG’s domestic and international TV operations, overseeing their positioning, profile, content and financial growth.
TMG owns German web Tele 5 as well as stakes in RTL 2, Austrian channel ATV and Hungary’s TV2.
Bauer held many positions at the ProSiebenSat 1 group from 1992 through 2003, lastly as head of TV.
In 2004, he joined Viva, where he oversaw TV operations in Germany and Viva’s channels in Poland, Hungary and Switzerland, but left following Viacom’s takeover last year.
Bauer had been rumored for the top job at RTL 2 after Josef Andorfer was sacked earlier this year. Web is managed by Jochen Starke, who replaced Andorfer in February.
