NEW YORK — Eight years after HBO’s seminal reality skein “Taxicab Confessions” was driven to Las Vegas — by paranoid Gothamites freaked that their most private backseat moments were being watched — the show was welcomed back with open arms Tuesday night.
The round trip was even being hailed as a major boost to the city’s production biz by Bloomberg brass.
“This show is made in New York from start to finish,” said Gotham’s film and TV commish Katherine Oliver. “This show led the way in terms of reality shows. It’s quintessentially New York.”
To celebrate “Confessions’ ” new bite out of the Big Apple, HBO even offered up guests the town’s top cabbie fare, pastrami sandwiches and the like at nosh mecca Katz’s Delicatessen on Houston Street.
