Stations issue ‘Lopez’ rulings

'Judge' available next September

The TV-syndication marketplace is heating up, ignited by news that Sony Pictures TV has cleared “Judge Maria Lopez,” its proposed daily syndicated TV court show, on TV stations in seven of the top 10 markets.

The “Lopez” clearances follow last week’s announcement that NBC Universal Domestic Distribution has sold an untitled daily talk/variety hour hosted by Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) to NBC 0&0s in N.Y., L.A., Chicago and San Francisco (Daily Variety, Oct. 24). Both Lopez and Mullally become available next September.

Stations buying “Lopez” include WPIX New York, WCIU Chicago, KYW/WPSG Philadelphia, WBZ/WSBK Boston and KBHK/KPIX San Francisco.
