Bollywood celebs compete for sports squads
NEW DELHI — India’s two passions, Bollywood and cricket, are coming together in one reality show.
“The Cricket Match” will see 16 Bollywood stars trained by cricket professionals for two weeks while living in a “boot camp.” Celebs will then face a team of Indian cricket legends.
Reality powerhouse Endemol sold the rights to its format “The Match” to Rupert Murdoch’s Star India, which will adapt it for the cricket-crazy subcontinent, at Mip.
Interactive voting by auds will determine which members of the squad make it to the team for the big showdown.
No Bollywood celebrities have yet been announced for the skein — but callers to radio talkshows were speculating that superstar Shah Rukh Khan should be squad captain.
