Showtime pacts with Verizon

Short Take

Showtime Networks has inked a long-term deal with Verizon to distribute all of its premium services via FiOS, a TV platform the telco is developing to compete with cable systems.

Pact is one of several recent agreements Verizon has made with cable networks including NBC U, Starz Entertainment Group, Discovery Networks and A&E Networks.

Under the Showtime pact, Verizon will be able to offer subscribers a package of nets including Showtime, Showtime Too and Showtime Women. Also included in the deal is high-definition and video-on-demand content from all Showtime Networks services.
