Shesgreen tapped Century’s main man

Veteran exec upped to CEO of theater chain

Century Theaters has upped veteran exec David Shesgreen to CEO.

Meanwhile, chair Raymond Syufy and vice chair Joseph Syufy announced several other promotions at the 1,000-screen circuit.

Shesgreen started his career at Pacific Theaters before joining Century as a film buyer in 1980. After several promotions he was lifted to chief operating officer in 1998 and prexy in 2003.

Raymond Syufy said in a statement, “David has been a key member for our management team for almost 30 years and has worked in or overseen virtually every department in the company. It is fitting that we now formalize and acknowledge David’s leadership role within the company.”

Filling the post of chief operating officer is Victor Castillo, who was previously an exec VP and chief development officer.

Century general counsel Andrew McCullough will also become exec VP for business affairs and add to his portfolio of responsibilities the exhib’s marketing division in addition to loss prevention and human resources.

In addition Century elevated three execs: Christi Reddy to senior VP of human resources, Elizabeth Puccinelli (senior veep, corporate development) and Pat Hager (senior VP-controller).
