NBC reups ‘Daly’ exec

Friedman will stay with Peacock through '07

NEW YORK — NBC has signed “Last Call With Carson Daly” executive producer David Friedman to a contract extension that will keep him at the Peacock through September 2007.

“Last Call,” now in its fourth season, averaged 1.5 million viewers its last season.

In addition to “Last Call,” Friedman produced the net’s first New Year’s Eve primetime special, “NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly.”

Friedman was tapped by NBC Entertainment prexy Jeff Zucker in 2001 to oversee “Last Call” while working as a producer at NBC Studios in Burbank. He spent six years as a producer at NBC’s “Today” and served as a feature producer for newsmag “Now” with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric.
