Casting director and personal manager Michael Lee McLean died May 14 of cancer. He was 63.
Born in Los Angeles, McLean began his career working in the casting department on films “The Sound of Music,” “Patton,” “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and served as casting director of “Rocky II” and “Highlander.”
He then became a personal manager, working with artists including John Phillips, Dennis Hopper, and Paul Reubens.
McLean helped launch Hollywood careers for numerous Australian actors, including Jack Thompson, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Peta Wilson and Simon Baker.
McLean is survived by his his wife of 25 years, Dr. Diane Dimeo-McLean, his mother, and a son.
