Touchstone Television is beefing up its comedy roster, inking scribe Regina Stewart to a two-year, seven-figure overall deal.
Stewart, who’s spent the past three seasons as a co-exec producer on 20th Century Fox TV’s “Still Standing,” will develop and exec produce series projects for Touchstone under the pact.
She’ll also work on existing skeins, starting with a role as consulting producer on Touchstone’s midseason ABC laffer “Crumbs.” Skein, starring Jane Curtin and Fred Savage, is from Touchstone-based Tollin/Robbins.
Alphabet is already familiar with Stewart’s work.
Scribe spent three seasons as an exec producer on ABC’s “Dharma & Greg,” which led to an overall deal at Warner Bros. And in the past few months, Stewart exec produced the ABC comedy pilot “Joint Custody,” working with helmer Shawn Levy and scribe Joel Stein on the 20th-produced project. Pilot was developed as part of Stewart’s overall pact with 20th.
One of Stewart’s first big TV gigs came on ABC’s “Family Matters,” where she started work in 1991. She then spent three seasons on NBC’s “Golden Girls” spinoff “Empty Nest.”
