Kingsley on a Chicago track

Chairman ups six to veepee status

Fresh from establishing an office in London, PMK/HBH Public Relations will open one in Chicago. At the same time, chairman Pat Kingsley has elevated six veteran publicists to vice president status.

Longtime Miramax exec James Dickinson christened the London headquarters earlier this week, and PMK/HBH vet Monique Huey Jones will spearhead the expansion in Chicago, with doors opening Oct. 15.

Earning veep stripes are Joy Fehily, who has handled such films as “The Aviator,” “Chicago” and “Traffic,” and reps the likes of Aaron Sorkin, Joel Silver and Tony Scott; Jill Fritzo, the Gotham-based publicist who has been at the agency for 12 years and handles Denise Richards, Christina Aguilera and Tony Danza; Melissa Kates, a seven-year vet whose clients include Sean Hayes, Johnny Knoxville and Tyra Banks; Cheryl Maisel, an 11-year vet who has handled pics including “Cold Mountain” and “All the Pretty Horses,” along with such clients as Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Sharon Stone and Craig Ferguson; Heidi Schaeffer, a 25-year vet whose list includes Candice Bergen, Sally Field and Will Smith; and Amanda Silverman, a five-year Gotham-based vet whose clients include Gael Garcia Bernal, Charlize Theron, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Queen Latifah.

Kingsley said the promotions were well deserved.

“Both individually and collectively, this group represents the best of the industry and are clearly the future of this company,” she said. “And I am also very excited about our Chicago office. Following on the heels of our recent London opening, it is our expectation that Monique will establish a strong presence for us in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.”
