Intermedia tunes in ‘Mindhunters’ for TV

Company inks with Fire Development

BERLIN — Intermedia is expanding into TV, inking with Jay Firestone’s Fire Development to co-produce a TV series based on recent feature “Mindhunters.”

The Intermedia-Dimension pic has grossed $4.4 million domestically after five weeks for Miramax and $15.9 million worldwide.

Intermedia also is partnering with Cologne-based producer Action Concept on an untitled low-budget, bigscreen actioner.

One of Germany’s most successful TV producers, Action Concept is producing the made-for “Dark Ride,” starring Drew Fuller as a Berlin bicycle courier who gets mixed up with a mob hitman, and partnering with GRB Worldwide and Canadian producer-distrib Incendo Prods. on a crime drama series based on John Frankenheimer’s 1998 actioner “Ronin.”

Intermedia currently is producing “Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction,” starring Sharon Stone; it’s shooting in London.
