IATSE gathers Lampoon crew

Alliance to secure compensation for laid-off members

HOLLYWOOD — The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees announced it has unionized the crew of the National Lampoon Clubhouse film “Trick or Treat” under a low-budget IATSE agreement.

The deal was reached June 15 after IATSE called for a work stoppage on the same day that producers announced layoffs of the camera, electrical and grip departments. As part of the agreement, IATSE secured compensation for the laid-off crew members.

National Lampoon Clubhouse is a joint-venture entity with Majestic Entertainment for films with budgets ranging from $3 million to $10 million.

IATSE also announced that the 35 members of the hair and makeup unit at Disneyland Resorts have voted unanimously to transfer their representation to the IATSE Local 706 from the Service Employees Intl. Union Local 1877.

Preliminary conversations on the change began in late 1999.
