Helmer rounds up ‘Triangle’

Baxley to direct Sci Fi miniseries

Craig Baxley (“Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital”) has signed on to direct six-hour, three-part miniseries “The Triangle” for Sci Fi Channel.

Dean Devlin and Bryan Singer are exec producing from a script by Rockne O’Bannon. Sci Fi greenlit the project earlier this year (Daily Variety, Jan. 21) and has slated it for a December premiere.

Production will begin at the end of May in South Africa. Casting is still under way.

The contemporary tale follows scientists and investigators who come together to figure out the myth behind the Bermuda Triangle.

Baxley’s other credits include Stephen King minis “Rose Red” and “Storm of the Century,” TNT’s “Avenging Angel” and the feature “Action Jackson.”
