'Santa' sequel skedded for a Dec. 17 preem
Hallmark Channel has greenlit the original movie “Meet the Santas,” starring Steve Guttenberg and Crystal Bernard.
Two-hour is a sequel to last year’s “Single Santa Meets Mrs. Claus,” which drew 2.8 million viewers to rank as the highest-rated movie in Hallmark history.
Story follows Nick Claus as he prepares to wed single mom Beth. One year after the pair have fallen in love, Nick must win the approval of Beth’s icy mother (Mariette Hartley) to get ready to take over the yuletide family business, all while planning the Christmas Eve nuptials.
Robert Halmi Jr. and Larry Levinson are exec producers. Harvey Frost directs from a script by Pamela Wallace and Mark Herschon.
Production has begun for a Dec. 17 premiere.
